THE GOSPEL OF LUKE
CHAPTER SEVEN

been when he gave the great discourse recorded in chapter six?
- Whose servant was sick and ready to die?
- Explain who and what a "centurion" was?
- Describe this particular centurion as the elders of the Jews depicted

John respond?
- Explain how John, who had at the beginning of the ministry of Jesus
when he had baptized Him and acknowledged Him to the God's Son, could now question whether or not Jesus was the
one to come?
- How did Jesus evaluate John? To what prophecy did He refer in declaring
who John truly was?
- Was John a great man? If so, explain v. 28.
- How did the publicans and people justify God (v. 29)?
- In refusing to be baptized, what did the Pharisees and lawyers reject?
- To what did Jesus liken this generation (vv. 31-32)?
- Of what had many of them accused John The Baptist (v. 32)? Why?
- Of what had they now accused Jesus? Why?
- 18. Explain the statement: "Wisdom is justified of all her children".
- What happened at the house of the Pharisee who had invited Jesus
to eat with him?
- What did the Pharisee say within himself?
- What did Jesus have to say to him about who would be the most grateful?
- How had the Pharisee treated Jesus when Jesus came into his house?
- In contrast, how had this woman treated Him?
- What did Jesus do for the woman?
- How did those who were eating respond to Jesus' statement?
- Upon what basis did Jesus say the woman's sins were forgiven?
