PLANS — GOD WILLING

Tab SpacerIn keeping with a long-time practice, we use the January editorial page to publish meeting schedules and other planned activities for the year. Brother Dan S. Shipley begins in Dallas, TX. (Easton Rd.) Feb. 28- Mar. 5. Then it's N. Park, Abilene, TX., Apr. 4-9; Lakeside, AZ., May 2-7; and Maryvale, Phoenix, AZ., May 9-14. He will be in Sinton, TX., May 30-June 4; and we will be together at Southside Lectures, Mt. Pleasant, TX., June 14-17. Dan is scheduled for Albany, OR. Aug. 15-22. In the fall he goes to Houston, TX., (Bellaire), Sept. 26-31; and to Del Rio, TX., Oct. 10-15. His meeting work for the year closes at Sparks, Nev., Nov. 7-12.

Tab SpacerMy work begins with a lecture at Florida College (Biblical Concept of Unity) Jan. 25; then a meeting in Victoria, TX., Feb. 21-26. I am to be in Purcell, Ok., Mar. 14-19; and Trussville, Al a., Mar. 28-Apr. 2. On to Eastside, Blytheville, Ark., Apr. 4-9, and to 28th Ave., Pine Bluff, Ark., Apr. 11-16. Then we head west to California, for a meeting at Sepulveda, Apr. 25-30; and Porterville (Terra Bella), May 2-7. We join Dan at Mt. Pleasant, TX., June 13-17; and will be at West Ave., San Antonio, TX., Aug. 1-6. Both Dan and I plan to continue our work with Plain Talk, and Dan will do his usual fine work with Oaks-West church. If I return to Florida College for another semester of teaching, that will keep me busy through December.

Tab SpacerHaving begun in June, 1981, I have been engaged in a written debate with bro. Gaston Cogdell, of Cincinnati, Ohio. The Lockland church of that city, invited my participation and will make the material available in that area when we are finished. A. publisher has also indicated a desire to put the complete work in book form. We are discussing four subjects: The Church, Universal and Local; Congregational Independence (Church Organization); Cooperation of Churches; and The Work of The Church. Each participant is writing an affirmative of his own choosing on each subject, and we each write two rebuttals on each subject. The writing should be finished by September 1, '82. Details later —!

Tab SpacerBro. Curtis Wubbena has moved from Burnet, to Brownwood, TX., to work with the Woodland Heights church. He spent one year with us: preaching the Word, leading singing, and doing much teaching of classes and private Bible studies. Curtis and Carol were welcomed workers here, and they (including young Zac) will be sorely missed. Their new home address is 1800 Vincent St., Brownwood, TX. 76801.
